Holidays in Umbria

Italy has two types of holidays when all is closed. The national holidays and then in Italy many towns have their own holiday days as well. These last ones are usually linked to the saint of the town.

In Italy all Sundays remain a day when most shops are closed. Occasionally a supermarket can be found open in the morning until 1 pm. In high season this is getting more common. Therefore, please take this into account in your travel plans. Restaurants and bars are mostly open.
